A little later to the party than I’d like this week, but we’ll be bringing you your much desired content as per usual.
Quail Hollow is an incredible course and Wells Fargo is an elevated event, so sans Rahm & Scheffler, we are in for an amazing field this week.
If Luke List makes the player pool - I’m deleting him. You need to be outstanding putting at Quail Hollow. I will gladly die by the sword on that one.
QH is very long with tight fairways. Both distance and accuracy are going to come in to play here. (by god, that’s Keith Mitchell’s music).
Prefer scrambling % to raw around the green stats this week.
QH is also a frequent stop for the PGA, hosted majors, hosted the Presidents Cup… I’d incorporate at least glancing at course history. It’s never my end all be all at any place, save for maybe Augusta, but it’s probably top 5ish courses where course history is predictive.
Golfers with strong course history (not all, but quick glance): Rory, Viktor Hovland (on 4 rounds played), Matt Wallace (again, 4 rounds), Joel Dahmen (what?), Keith Mitchell (I swear I didn’t know this before I wrote the stupid music joke up top)
Notable golfers with not so strong course history (not all, but quick glance): Matt Fitzpatrick (2 rounds), Wyndham Clark, Xander Schauffele (but did go T-14 last year) and Sungjae.
