True PGA DFS grinders will not only be focusing on the Open, but also on the Barracuda, which offers points for scores much like Draft Kings does - X amount of points for albatross, eagle, birdie, par and negative X amount of points for bogey, double bogey or worse.
It’s not a great field, and I’m not going to spend too much time on diving in. Same type of deal with the Barbasol last week. It’s a pretty easy course, use distance as a tiebreaker, but it’s not an end all be all - Chez Reavie won here last year and could be the shortest hitter of them all. Just looking at the overall shape of the game for the player.
Group I feel most confident in - as always there is that quick disclosure.
Chez being number and returning champ is incredibly funny to me - as he’s not priced way up, I could see him getting a lot of clicks.
Grayson Murray got a $1,000 salary decrease from the Barbasol last week and he’s been playing lights out golf. I expect a ton of clicks to come in on him, but he’s a great play.
Kuest had a massive salary bump for Barbasol, massive clicks, and MC’d. They swung the pendulum in a harder correction on him and he’s still a great price. With the two extra days off from a missed cut, I wonder if he’s recharged enough to keep up the current pace he was on.
Norrman obviously won the Barbasol last week, so there will be some recency bias there.
Greyson Sigg I have a lot of interest in - performed well at John Deere.
I feel like I’ve seen Chad Ramey’s name quite a bit recently - he’s made the cut in four straight events and is 7/9 in made cuts over that time span. He has a very decent price as well, especially if you’re looking for a cut maker.
As always - the more volatile names of the bunch. PLEASE VERIFY THE GOLFERS ARE ACTUALLY PLAYING. Due to all of the major coverage, I haven’t been as up to speed on who has been a WD and who hasn’t. I’d honestly be wary of any golfer that played the Scottish Open last week, especially if they made the cut. That’s a long flight to and from and multiple time zone changes. Jet lag may well be a factor here.
Patrick Rodgers never delivers on his fancy stats. C’est la vie.
