28/37 - 76%. Seeing a steady rise week to week from the PGA.
Scottie looked human and almost ejected himself from the cut with a bogey on his last hole. He is pounding the cover off the ball still, but is losing over 3 strokes in his two rounds with his putter. It’s the only thing holding him back from winning every single tournament and I’m not being hyperbolic.
Tremendously strong upper half of the player pool. Shows me that the stat categories I weighted I was keyed in on correctly.
I should have had way more conviction on Sam Bennett. Insanely good & productive college/amateur golfer and even par at Muirfield through two rounds (that’s very good).
Variance monster got us at the bottom here, but that’s golf (and life). Smalley is disappointing because I pushed all of my chips in on him and his game was an absolute train wreck in his two rounds. Same goes for Tom Kim. Tommy Train apparently has a wrist/thumb injury, but hard to confirm that with notoriously poor reporting on golf injuries.
Hideki was someone I was very high on and wrote about him in Toph’s Thoughts. That makes me feel good he came to play.
Jason Day & Justin Thomas are head scratchers — no other way to put it.
You’d think with a strong model I would have had some success? My lineup was 3/6. I loved my build last week and it bombed and hated my build this week and it bombed. Hopefully leaving the country next week for RBC Canadian will get me back on track.
