I rely on numbers that are pretty easily accessible. There will be times the pool doesn’t have a golfer that may seem obvious to the broader fantasy world, but the point of the pool is to rely on numbers. I can only go off of what I have.
As I mentioned in my intro post - I try to fit the golfer to the course. I start with the entire field and input data of 3-5 categories I feel are most important and I start whittling down from there and add more data from more categories that I deem important, but not as important as the first set, until it’s a manageable 35-40 names.
The goal of my model is to have as high of a number above zero as possible. I use a culmination of strokes gained data, percentages and different stats to get me there on an average.
Full field would typically see the bottom around -2 and the top at 1 or slightly above. Again, the goal is to be as high above zero as possible.
By subscribing, you’ll receive my pool each week with an additional goal of one to two articles/posts on the pool, the course, value, etc. Basically, whatever edge we can find, we want to provide.
Valero insights and pool will be posted this week. Let’s get 6/6 through!
