You know.. this field.. is not great.
Neither is the course. It’s among the easiest courses on Tour. It’s going to be a bad field that requires decent irons and a solid putter because it’s going to turn into a putt putt contest.
It’s not great and that was WITH Will Zalatoris in the field and now he’s no longer in the field, withdrawing today.
But, without further ado, I suppose we should see who is trending where. It’s always a good sign when your median golfer in the trend table is losing strokes! Seriously…
A whole bunch of names here that we are at least familiar with and I’m guessing most of these guys are going to occupy the player pool.
Seamus Power sticks out anecdotally because I know he’s finished well recently.
Noren will probably be chalky.
Ben Martin!
LFG, Chesson Hadley. He’s a rock star putter.
Sungjae is coming back to life, but unfortunately his putter still absolutely sucks.
Look.. these are the top half of names and you know maybe … six? … of them? I know most of them, but that is because I am a very sick personal mentally who cares way too much about golf and this stupid Substack. I won’t blame you if you take this week off.
Jaeger is ideal for a tournament like this. Scores a lot, is volatile, playing slightly above his base line.
I mean, sure. I’m not really scared off by any of these guys and they’re all probably in play.
Good week to drink seven vodka Red Bull’s and start screaming “Greyson Sigg” at your in-laws house and see how mad you can make your significant other.
Good God.
Please make it stop and shoot this tournament in the head.
A lot of these guys will probably be better in this tournament than their trend table indicates here at the bottom, but seriously.
What are we even doing here?
What’s more disgusting is that I’ll have a player pool for you tomorrow. Let’s see if I can stop getting nauseous looking the field.
