I’m going to try to separate a betting article and the player pool so that way I can find and identify six odds that I like (Outright, Top 5, Top 10, Top 20, Top 30, Top 40) in the betting market so this satiates a need outside of just the DFS space.
This article won’t be super detailed, because you’ll understand why I like what I like when you see the player pool later on Wednesday’s, but the goal will (usually) be to find plus odds on a finishing position that you can take advantage of and potentially use any of the picks here to set up your own parlay.
(Odds pulled from Draft Kings Sports Book in Michigan)
Top 40
S.H. Kim - +140
Checks in 33rd in my player pool - incredible putter comparative to field, sponsored as all South Korean players are by the new tournament sponsor, so there will be initiative to perform well.
Top 30
Ben Martin - +280
You can even get plus odds on Martin in the top 40, which is perfectly fine as well. Extremely high trend rank, solid enough putter, and one of the tops in all of the PGA Tour in proximity to the hole rank, which is one of the only “challenging” parts of this course.
Top 20
Tom Hoge - +150
This is just a silly number for one of the better golfers on Tour this season.
Top 10
Keith Mitchell - +360
If his putter doesn’t let him down, the rest of his game is in strong shape and this is an extremely weak field.
Top 5
Alex Noren - +550
Has been on a major heater. Will be very popular in DFS, so if you want to fade his clicks in DFS but still hedge with a strong finish, this is a nice number.
Outright Winner
Boring pick: Si Woo Kim +1600
Exciting pick: Seamus Power +5000
You’re insane: Nate Lashley +7500
