Zurich is an incredibly unique tournament as it’s the only team tournament on the PGA Tour. Two man teams split between best balls and four ball etc.
On Draft Kings, you only need to draft one player from a team and you accrue all of their points. For instance, course record setters and defending champions Xander Schauffele & Patrick Cantlay are both listed at $11,100. You select either one, but can only choose one of them for a valid entry. But you accrue all of their combined points.
The goal of mine for this week in terms of providing content is to still give you the top 35ish individual golfers in a player pool. I have every intention of providing a trend table for those golfers as well. And specifically for this week, I will try to provide the top 15-20 teams.
This a 160 player field that is 80 teams and 33 of those teams plus ties make the standard post round 2 cut.
Some players we just will not have data for. So it will be hard to rate someone like a Matt Fitzpatrick playing with his brother if we have no data on his brother. That’s the goal of providing the 35ish individual players as well as trying to hone in on teams. My initial lean is to do something like this: If Patrick Cantlay is number 1 and Xander Schauffele is number 5, that would average them at 3 and that would likely be the number 1 team based on overall team scores. So if a Sungjae is number 3 and Keith Mitchell is 11, that’s an average team score of 14, and we’ll slot that in where necessary.
Shoot me any feedback you’re looking for.
TPC Louisiana is incredibly easy. Tons of water, but it’s an extremely easily scoring course. Xander & Cantlay shot like a -29 course record last year. We’re going to be pretty easy going in terms of model rating and looking at overall game and trying to pair with others who have solid games.
