I am in Utah currently for my real job. So, I will still have content coming your way for the Scottish Open as well, it just may not be until tomorrow morning. My schedule is incredibly tight, but I want to make sure you all get something out of this week. I already have the Scottish trend table done & a good idea of what I’m going to be tracking to finalize the player pool.
I am a sick man, because I made a player pool for the Barbasol. This one, because of the INCREDIBLY weak field and much, much easier golf course than almost anywhere they play, I didn’t go as deep into statistics, because these guys are going to light the course up. It’s among the easiest courses played all year and even with fringe PGA guys, the scores get incredibly deep. I included distance ranks, because you can use distance as a tie breaker if you’re stuck on someone. Distance rank is relative to the entire field.
No surprise to see a lot of top heavy prices up top. I’d lean into some of the names you may not have heard of, some World Tour guys, who can come in and make some noise and give themselves a shot at getting a PGA card.
I’d be careful of Justin Lower, rumor is he had Covid which forced the WD from John Deere. If there’s any sort of lingering issue or fatigue, he may not have his A game and there’s plenty of places to go than paying up for him. If you think he’s full go and full health, play him. He needs to keep a strong stretch going for his PGA card retention.
Jimmy Hahn has a great caddy this week - can go a long way in keeping a player loose.
Scott Piercy has been nursing a back injury the past couple of weeks. Something to keep an eye on.
Troy Merritt elected to play the Scottish Open when he got in, but he’s still available in the player pools for the Barbasol. I kept him in with a red to draw your attention to it so you don’t click his name.
Kevin Roy and Marty Dou have been decent recently and may draw some clicks, but they have good price points.
Trevor Cone, Grayson Murray, Jimmy Hahn, Kelly Kraft, Lucas Glover and Vince Whaley all rank in the upper echelon of my trend table.
Good luck if you’re betting/playing the Barbasol!
